Frequently Asked Questions

Why should I correct or straighten my teeth?

Reasons to straighten or correct your teeth can be quite different. Adults may often decide to have their teeth straightened or corrected because they never had braces as a child and their teeth have moved over time.

Generally speaking, however, a treatment can be necessary for medical or aesthetic reasons. Medical reasons could be a tooth misalignment that prevents you from biting, chewing or speaking properly. Through teeth straightening, the proper functioning of the jaw and teeth can be restored.

Aesthetic reasons usually have a negative impact on self-confidence. Straightening and correcting the teeth can strengthen and increase your confidence and well-being. Many success stories of our patients show what a positive life change a dental correction can bring. Am I a candidate for teeth straightening or dental correction?

Generally speaking, ProfalignerAligners can correct mild to moderate tooth misalignments in adults aged 18 and over. For children and teenagers between the ages of 11 and 17 we suggest using ProfalignerTeens Aligners.

At your first appointment, our expert dentists will tell you whether you are a candidate for Aligners or Veneers. Choose an appointment online for your free 3D scan and consultation.

How long does a tooth correction with aligners take?
For adults, teeth straightening with ProfalignerAligners takes between 3 and 12 months. The duration depends entirely on the patient’s starting point and whether the Aligners are worn 22 hours a day.
Are the results long-lasting?

Since teeth can move throughout your entire life (even after orthodontic treatment), it is essential to fix the new tooth position properly.

We therefore recommend placing a permanent wire retainer after every Aligner treatment. This will be attached to the back of the teeth and ensures that the new bite is maintained in place in the long term. By the way, if you choose the wire retainer after your Aligner treatment, you get a 10-year guarantee. Alternatively, your bite can also be fixed in place with a retainer Aligner that is only worn at night.
